Rendering and Compositing
Next, the final rendering is carried out and special workstations are used for calculating the definitive image. The levels of the scene are set, which are then to be individually developed by the rendering machines. The process traces the classical scheme of traditional animation in which the elements of the scene (background, characters, elements behind the scenes, et.) are superimposed based on the respective depth plans.
The broken down scenes are ready to be composited. The compositing process includes redevelopment of all the rendered material, using specific software: all the necessary transitions and graphic effects are applied and colour correction is carried out for giving a uniform colour treatment to the whole project.
