Lowara and Technical Literature

The history of the Hoepli Publishing Company and Bookstore is closely related to that of the Italian industry and school system.
The name Hoepli has always been associated with technical and scientific publications, ever since the Company was established in the centre of Milan in 1870. At that time, the progress of the Italian industry depended on the availability of specialized technicians. It was then that, thanks to the efforts of enlightened industrialists, vocational schools came into being, followed by the establishment of the first Royal Technical Institutes.
One of the texts most frequently cited in the bibliography of university engineering courses is titled "Sanitary Systems - Design and Installation of Plumbing and Sanitary Systems in Buildings" also known by the name of its editor, Angelo "Gallizio".
This publication has proved a valid tool ever since its first edition, though a complete revision was necessary in order to keep up with technical innovations.
The new revised edition by Stefano Salvini and Paola Soma, titled "Water Systems in Buildings - sizing and design of distribution networks - consumption water, firefighting networks, swimming pools and irrigation systems", has been available since September 2003.
This work, which is aimed at designers, installers and students, deals with all the aspects of the design and construction of plumbing systems in buildings, starting with the characteristics of water and including measurement instruments, pumps, pressure booster sets, materials, valves, faucetry, sanitary equipment, sanitary hot water production, chemical and physical water treatments, sizing of water supply and sewer networks, firefighting systems, swimming pools, residential irrigation and system testing.
The book is accompanied by a CD-Rom containing all the laws mentioned in the various chapters.
Lowara has contributed to the writing and preparation of the texts and drawings concerning automatic pressure booster sets for distribution networks and water supply of firefighting systems.
