Company announces availability of 2007-2008 Corporate Responsibility Report

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., September 17, 2008 – For the tenth year in a row, ITT Corporation (NYSE:ITT) has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) in recognition of the company's economic, environmental and social performance. Its inclusion on the 2008 list makes ITT one of the few companies to be included on the list every year since its inception in 1999.
The DJSI World identifies those companies that exemplify leadership in sustainability and comprises the top 10 percent of the businesses assessed, which includes the world’s 2,500 largest corporations. The leaders are selected according to a systematic corporate sustainability assessment across an array of categories, including climate change strategies, energy consumption, human resources development, knowledge management, stakeholder relations and corporate governance.
We believe there is a direct link between sustainable business practices and long-term business success, placing our sustainability strategy at the core of ITT’s business model,” said Steve Loranger, chairman, president and chief executive officer, ITT. “We are very pleased by this recognition, and accept it as part of our ongoing journey. Our sustainability approach will continue to shrink the company’s environmental footprint and we will continue to make investments in people and technology that have a positive impact on our customers, employees, and communities.”
The DJSI World is published annually by SAM, the sustainability investment specialist, together with Dow Jones Indexes and STOXX Ltd., two leading global index providers. To learn more about the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, visit www.sustainability-indexes.com.
