ITT Lowara Aboard the Adriatica…In the Wake of a Dream
16/03/2006
ITT Lowara has become a sponsor of the Adriatica, the sailboat on which Patrizio Roversi and Syusy Blady raced round the world, an event which formed the basis of the TV series titled “Velisti per Caso” (Sailors by Chance).
The new sailing program for 2006 will be another circumnavigation of the globe, with the sponsorship of companies operating in the water and sanitary services sector and coordinated by ICB, with the aim of supporting the humanitarian goals of the Telefood project organized by the FAO and other Onlus organizations operating in the countries where the Adriatica is due to touch land in 2006.
Patrizio Roversi, the soul and driving force of the Adriatica, declared that, thanks to the participation of the water, heating and sanitary companies, which include Lowara, “…the crew and passengers, in addition to the satisfaction of contributing to a solidarity project, will also enjoy a more motivating, interesting and exciting itinerary, whose purpose is not merely recreational but also social and humanitarian”.
ITT Lowara will be a major sponsor of the event. During the week the Adriatica will sail in the Caribbean Sea with 8 passengers onboard, Lowara will directly contribute to the funding of the solidarity projects titled “In the Wake of a Dream”.
Media coverage of the event will include TV transmissions via satellite, articles on trade magazines, specific events, the “Velisti per Caso” website and the production of filmed videos of this extraordinary adventure.
ITT Lowara, which has always been sensitive to the problems and challenges connected with water, wished to support the Telefood projects, particularly those related to water supply, to help in the fight against world hunger.
The program and objectives of the initiative supported by ITT Lowara were presented at MCE, with the participation of Patrizio Roversi, who illustrated the program and purposes of the Adriatica’s next race round the world.
By backing this initiative ITT Lowara underscores its continued concern for environmental and energy saving issues, and confirms that it is indeed possible to combine the ocean sailing dream with the need to support development in the emerging countries.
